MARIGOLD

The vintage dress rehab continues with this cute marigold yellow skirt. I bought this a long time ago. It came as part of a 3 piece set, matching lace top, this skirt and the most hideous jacket I have ever seen. I really did not want to take that jacket home so I told the lady I would pay for the regular price but they could keep the jacket. Now I wish I had the jacket to show you guys! Anyways, I've been really loving yellows and since summer is just around the corner, I thought this skirt would be perfect as a flowy dress! This is also my favorite dress silhouette, so easy to wear, comfy and you can eat a lot, feel bloated and no one will know! It hides everything! :D
as with most vintage clothing, the elastics loose its stretch and needs replaced

here, the elastic has been replaced and now ready to cut! I took out about 4" from the length

TADA! perfect length for petite people like me :)

lets take a close look at my wonderful hand sewing job. not bad huh? ;)

VINTAGE DRESS REHAB- complete

Well, I finally finished altering the dresses! I can now cross this off my DIY list of things to do. Actually there is one more dress I haven't finished. It is the vanity fair light blue night gown. Im having trouble with sewing :(
You can view the before photos here and here.

I pondered over this one for several weeks and finally decided to remove the sleeves.

I removed about 8" from the width and a bunch from the length. It is now a cute shift dress. I love the water color print!

this is actually considered a lingerie but it is opaque enough to wear as a dress. I took out about 10" from the length

I love the print and colors but it was original a tapered leg jumper, not flattering. So I cut off the legs and turned it into a cute romper. So perfect for summer!

DIY- hand stamped wrapping paper

Here is a fun way to make your own wrapping paper with recycled paper! Next time you get a package, save the stuffing paper, its recycling recycled paper in a cute fun way!
the white roll of recycled paper is from TJMaxx and Marshalls. The wrap the breakables with these and I save it all!
I made this round stamp from foam and wooden spool. I also used the same stamp to make the coasters seen in previous post

use regular black stamp ink and stamp away! you can make any pattern you want. so much fun!
use any color ribbon or twine to finish the package
i started to wrap my etsy orders in my handmade recycled wrapping paper :)

WORK IN PROGRESS- the before

Here are a few things I've been working on lately. I have a very long mental list of projects to do. I didn't forget about the 2 dresses from this post. It's almost complete but I ran out of bobbin cases so I wasn't able to finish the hem. Hopefully, I can get myself to go to Joann's one of these days to pick up a few extra bobbin cases. These are the before pics of what I am working on. Stay tuned to see the AFTER!

CUTE & AFFORDABLE SCARVES

CUTE & AFFORDABLE SCARVES

I found these cute scarves from Spotted Moth. These are cute alternative to the Theodora & Callum ones that may be a bit pricey for some people. All of the ones you see here are $14.99 or less!!  Im not sure why some are showing up as $75 but it is not $75. If you like any of them, I recommend you order soon because they sell out quick. Some of the cuter ones are already sold out! I really wanted the "blocks of dots" (second row, second from left) and the pink leopard one (top left corner) but it was sold out as well. DARN and DARN! but I did order some other ones, cant wait to get them! And dont forget to use coupon code "save10" for 10%off! I love retailmenot, that is where I find all my coupon codes :)

BLACK x WHITE x TAN LEATHER- my fav combo

My favorite color combo for summer, Black + White and tan leather. I've been wanting to share these cute sandals with you. I've been searching for cute tan summer sandals for a while now. They go with pretty much anything and everything. I was at Target the other day getting a few things for the home and decided to stop by the shoe section. I've never purchased shoes from Target before because I remember they dont carry size 5. But I decided to take a look anyway and Im glad I did! I found a cute pair from the woman's section and a cute pair from the girl's section. Its not pink, and does not have princess all over and kids shoes are a lot cheaper!! I also like it because it blends in to your legs and gives the illusion of longer legs, I need every inch I can get! Besides the shoes, I've recently found a few new vintage things that complete my summer look. Whats your fav color combo and summer look?

this sums up my summer look. of course, i dont just wear the 2 pcs of clothing :P

Heart print flowy top+ Chrysoprase gemstone (gift from Paul) made into a necklace (by me)                            black + white romper- love rompers and dress! + Gold triangle pendant necklace (handmade by me)

Left to Right: Vintage Avon double link bracelet, Vintage Avon pearl cabachon cuff, White tassel bracelet (handmade by me)

Left to Right: Vintage coil stretch belt, goes with EVERYTHING.   House of Harlow cuff - LOVE VERY MUCH gift from Paul.   House of Harlow jagged zig zag bangle set, also gift from Paul and LOOOOVE! Paul is so sweet and thoughtful :)

my latest and greatest possession: Vintage white eyelet leather oversized clutch with tan leather trim

Cute sandals from Target girl's section. I wear a size 3!

I've been meaning to make more of these necklaces for my etsy store, should I????

Whitney Eve cropped blouse- soooo cute! a bit too big for me, i may sell it on ebay!

the other sandals from Target. The smallest was 5.5 but these fit great because of the ankle support

metallic heels, cute detail!
and how could I forget my fav aviator sunnies! they are perfect with the tan leather trims.
