POLKA DOTS

Ok, Im finally back! It took a while for me to get out of my funk but I'm glad to be normal again. While I was gone, I did quite a bit of shopping for my destination wedding (super excited!!!). I sorta had a hard time finding stuff I like, specifically cover-ups. I think I may just make my own...how hard could it be? I did find a bunch of cute shorts though. My sister and I went a little crazy at the store. Lets just say we each bought enough to do a window display :) Anyways, the polka dot shorts I wore today is one of my new acquisitions. I love polka dots, especially in a blush tone.

MISSING

Sorry for being MIA. I've been feeling a little under the weather. Not sure if its allergy or flu so Im taking both medication and its making me coo-coo! On top of feeling sick, my AC was broken last week but of course when the repair man came, it started working again. This happened twice already, so annoyed! Anyways, hope you are all swell. I leave you with random photos from the last week while I was gone.
I found this vintage milk bottle from TJMaxx, so cute right?! I now use it for my iced coffee :)

my absolute fav drink

one side is milky and the other side is tea flavored with boba. so delicious!

FLORESCENT x LACE

After 3 hours of looking at white bridal stuff, my eyes were craving some color! Today was another hot one but not as hot as these florescent silky dolphin shorts and my stacked neck accessories handmade by me. My favorite way to wear anything neon or bright color is with lace or  with anything flowy and white. Here, I am wearing it with a cream colored lace top and nude shoes. My outfit definitely satisfied my craving for a shot of color! And yes, I bought a dress and I am very happy with it!
I actually tried to make my lip color match the shorts but it didn't show up on camera :P

hope everyone is having a lovely peaceful week! happy hump day!

in case you missed it, I made all of these necklaces. I am currently working on new designs so stay tuned!

DRESS SHOPPING

Later today, I am meeting up with my sister to try on some wedding dresses (for me, not her). I'm not excited or have any special feelings but maybe when I'm actually there, it will change. As I mentioned before, I don't have a dream wedding planned since age 6 like most girls. I just knew that I wanted to find the love of my life, a soul mate and best friend and get married and live happily ever after. Never thought about what wedding I wanted or what my dress would look like. I already have in mind the styles I would like to try on. The most important thing is to look pretty and simple and appropriate for the location and appropriate for me. Don't want to look like a big fluffy marshmallow! Even though I don't have a specific dress in mind, i am sure about what I don't want to be, a marshmallow bride! Anyways, guess where I'm going before trying on wedding dresses??  LOWES! need to return some stuff I bought for my closet that just didn't work out. womp womp :(
Today is really hot so I decided to wear something light and breezy

INSTA-WEEKEND

You know how I had mentioned about going down to the beach to ride Lola? It almost didn't happen! I guess she is really a little french lady after all and does not want to be strapped to the back of the car. Lola's unique "step in" frame does not fit on a traditional bike rack. I was so sad we weren't going to be able to take her to the beach but handy Paul wiggled her into the trunk of his explorer and it fit!!! So happy! We rode from Santa Monica to Malibu and went back the other way down to Venice beach. It was so much fun, Lola is such a comfortable ride, it didnt feel like 10 miles or however many mile it was. This week, I will be doing some accessory shopping for her. Im thinking about basket for front or back, maybe some leather tassles for the handle (she needs arm candy too!) and definitely a cup holder, I've been wanting this since my last bike!

Here are some snippets of my weekend, how was your weekend?
No, i didnt ride on the sand! just carried it on to the sand to take some photos and get out of the bike path :D
strapped my bag to the back seat

We ended the day with a lovely dinner at Shutters. AND guess what happened here??? they had bike racks set up by the entrance for people to lock up their bikes but they also had their own bikes for guests to borrow. Someone was getting too comfortable on Lola wanting to rent her!!!!! >_< I was not happy about that.

Went to pick up our wedding bands on Saturday and enjoyed brunch later on. So happy to get my ring back.

followed by yummy dessert: sweet belgian waffle with blueberry jasmine ice cream YUMMY!

ICED COFFEE - lazy afternoon

Lately, I've been really into making my own coffee. I wish I had a nice retro looking espresso machine but for now, instant coffee will do. Ever since I discovered how delicious sweet condensed milk taste with my coffee, I've been making it almost every morning! I dont really follow a recipe so it taste a little different each time which I dont mind. You may have tried Vietnamese coffee which is sweetened with condensed milk but my version is so much better ! :) In addition to the condensed milk, I add a bit of flavored creamer. Today, I used hazelnut. It just makes it creamier and flavorful. If you are making it iced, I recommend making it more concentrated otherwise, the ice will water it down. My iced coffee was refreshing and perfect for this lazy afternoon.

If you have a tea shaker, it will make your coffee taste even better with all the foam on top :)

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

Sucks that this year we wont be getting a long weekend to celebrate the 4th but it is still a nice little break in the middle of the week. Paul and I went down to city walk and saw the movie Ted. Now I want a talking teddy bear! Ted is like snuggles but fluffier, cuter and bigger. If I had a talking living teddy bear, I'd be taking him for a ride on LOLA. Speaking of Lola, I have ridden her in a while but looking forward to it this weekend! Maybe another beach weekend?!
