NEW FAVORITES

I have a few new things to share with you! A few new dresses and cute accessories. If you know me, you know I mostly wear dresses and I cant wait to wear these newbies! Ok, the yellow ombre piece and the lace thing is really a long top, barely a dress. If you look in my closet, you will see that it is organized by color, print and length. I only have a few pairs of pants and shorts so they are tucked away in the drawers. Anyways, I have a pretty good section of black and the whites (inluding ivory, cream, off white, eggshell, you get the point). For prints, it is mostly some sort of black/white print such as polka dot or stripes and then I have a LOT of leopard prints (my fav!). I also have a section of colors, not subtle colors but bright colors like these ones here. I love bright colorful things! Go bright or go home!!! Now, where does Paul hang his clothes? Well, I was so kind to give him 2 drawers for his socks and underwear (yes so generous of me) but his real closet is in the spare room. Not the room itself because Im hogging that too but the closet in the spare room (again, so generous of me) I can easily use another closet because just my coats and jackets took up all the closet space in the guest bedroom. Sorry guests, you can just keep your clothes in the suitcase :)

love this Philip Lim belt!!!

my white leather belt with gold sea shell as seen in my 'skirting the issue' post. This belt actually goes with a lot of my dresses!

new addition to my jewelry collection. This is a 60s monet necklace and bracelt

new stuff for spring! cant wait for weather to get warmer

and I live happily ever after

NAIL ARMOUR

The nail ring trend was started by Lady Gaga sometime last year.  She had the long talons encrusted with crystals which i couldnt pull off with my short fingers. And then I saw Nicole Richie in the shorter simple gold version and became obsessed. I am a huge fan of her House of Harlow 1960 jewelries. I dont think she made the nail rings for her line but I love them!!!! I finally got my fingers on them and they will be available for sale in my ebay store! They are made of high quality alloy and are high polished gold. One size fits most. They fit all my fingers except the pinky, it was a bit loose.

can I have all her rings please?

STYLE COPY CAT- baroque sunnies

In my previous post RIDE IN STYLE I briefly mentioned in the picture caption about these super awesome sunglasses. The 'baroque' sunglasses is by Prada for $290 which I think is not bad but not something I would wear for years and years so definitely not worth $290 to me. I found a great copy cat for just under $15 HERE, same site I found the copy cat shoes! I guess they love to copy Prada :)
Aren't they lovely?

Prada 'baroque' sunglasses $290

The copy cat version for $14.98. also available in 4 tacky colors :)

SHOEGASM

Remember the copy cat shoes I talked about in my previous post? Well, I wore them out today while I did a few errands and I kept getting stopped by guys and girls asking about them or complimenting them. Walking in to the post office, a lady carrying a big box stopped me at the front door and asked where I got them. And later inside the post office, the man at the counter complimented them (he was checking me out while i was filling out the forms, oh my). Then walking out to the parking lot, the same lady that stopped me at the door pointed out my shoes to her friend or daughter sitting in the car. Hmmm... maybe they look extra cute because its small! everything looks cuter when they are small dont you think? :)

I wore a polka dot dress today with brown belt to compliment the shoes   P.S. I love my french soap label door mat!

this is the color I have called chestnut- goes with everything!

SKIRTING THE ISSUE

Being a petite girl, I always have problem finding things in my size. It seams that smaller sizes always sell out first which means, no chance of it making it to the sale rack. But sometimes I find a piece that is just too cute to pass up even though it is too big on me. I find ways to make it work. Here I am showing you a cute skirt worn as a dress- adorable right? This is a vintage size 14 skirt with a 31" waist, way too big for me but as a dress, perfect!
I added a belt to finish off the look.  Dress available in my etsy shop!

NEW PROJECTS- vintage dresses

I have a small collection of vintage clothing that I've been collecting and still adding to. Since I have an etsy store now, I promised myself to put up 5 items a day. First I start out by picking out the items I want to sell and then taking nice pictures- or at least try to take nice pictures. Two of the items I was really excited about turned out to have some stains and small holes (sad face). I dont like selling things with these types of flaws. Minor flaws that can be hidden or fixed are ok but I feel these flaws are too noticeable. Im quite bummed that i wont be able to sell them as they are really cute. So after a few hours of pondering I decided to alter them by shortening the dresses which will cut away the stains and holes. YAY! i cant wait to get started on these 2 projects. The mint green Vanity Fair dress will be testing my sewing skills as these types of fabrics are hard to sew!

This is a 1960's Vanity Fair night gown. It appears to be brand new but there are water stains towards the bottom half of the skirt. I love the beautiful mint green color so to save this dress, i will shorten it to knee length :)

H&S Duchess pearl- my latest vintage jewelry find. It comes with matching earrings.

This dress is from ILGWU, the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union. I researched the union label and found that this dress is from 1963-1974. I plan to shorten the dress to mid thigh length and take out the sleeves.

Everything looks better with a few accessories! I need to figure out the lighting situation so I can take better pictures but for now, whatever I have will do. I welcome everyone to my grand opening!
Love this jacket! would look cute with dark blue denim

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT- cruiser

On Saturday, we took a leisurely stroll down to our local bike shop so I can try out the 24" and 26" cruisers. All of the cruisers I tried out were by Electra. When I sat down, I immediately felt the difference compared to my current bike. It felt a lot lighter and easier to ride with the smaller frame. The guy at the shop gave me a copy of the Electra catalog to look at as they did not have all of the models on the floor. As I flipped through I came across the Amsterdam ROYAL 8i. My heart nearly stopped. It was love at first sight. It has everything on my must have list from my previous cruiser post and it also has the headlights!!! But do i need an 8 speed? probably not. Luckily it comes in the 3 speed as well, the Classic 3i. See for yourself why I fell in love.
amsterdam ROYAL 8i black- $1,150

amsterdam ROYAL 8i pearl white- I originally wanted the pearl white but my last bike is pearl white so i may go with black this time. Black just look so chic.

amsterdam CLASSIC 3i black. Also comes in forest metallic which is also nice. This might be $650

BE A STUD

This is for all the guys that read my blog. I put together some easy comfy and stylish outfits, perfect for weekend dates. I chose items from Old Navy and American Eagle because they are accessible and affordable. I forgot to label the jacket and accessories but they are optional and can be mixed and matched with any of the outfits.

HANDMADE- birthday card

A special card for a special lady. My future Mother in law's birthday is just a few days away. Instead of buying a card, I decided to make one. I hope it doesn't get damaged in the mail and hope Mom H likes it!

I used a Tiffany blue textured cardstock

a peek inside: i used pinking shears to cut out a pearlized white paper stock and wrote a lovely note

I used my artistic talents and drew a cupcake in a cupcake stand and colored it with metallic pen (in real life it is metallic)

and i copyrighted my card :)
