CLOSET and JEWELS

I know I haven't posted since last Friday. Been having too much fun being out and about enjoying the wonderful sunny weather and taking new pics for my ebay store. But I knew it was too good to be true, the nice weather went away and it started pouring last night! BOO, I hate rain! I will stay home and do some closet and jewelry organization.

A peek into my closet, it is JAMMED PACKED even with slim velvet hangers!
one day I will have a giant closet big enough to put a center island like this one

and have pull out drawers for all my jewelry

but for now, i keep some of my rings in these cute cast iron claw foot bath tub soap dish

i collect brooches, but never use them

FRESH LEMONADE + CUTE OUTFIT

"When life doesn't give you lemons, you will soon find that you miss them". So I went to costco and bought a big bag for about $3! I found this perfect simple lemonade recipe and couldn't wait to try it out. Thank goodness for my beautiful lemon juicer (gift from Paul) because this recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups of lemon juice and I can never hand squeeze that many lemons! If you are looking for a juicer, i highly recommend it! It is from pottery barn. The recipe required boiling hot water to make the syrup but you can just use room temperature water and shake it in a bottle like i did.
Here is how I made my lemonade, I made A LOT so come on over and have some lemonade! HAPPY FRIDAY AND HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!
You can get this juicer at the pottery barn website, still available! $119     (doesn't this look just like my kitchen?)

ingredients: 1 3/4 cup sugar   8 cups water   1 1/2 cup lemon juice

I used 6~7 of these giant lemons to get me to 1 1/2 cups of juice

juicer in action!

mess free, drips right into the cup. very easy to clean. just rinse the thing that touched the lemon and the dripping dish

making the sugar syrup. I realized I do not own a funnel! so I made one with foil :)

1 3/4 cup of sugar + 1 cup water and shake it up! it does look like milk doesnt it?

refreshing!

the rest 7 cups water+ sugar syrup+ 1 1/2 lemon juice. I used this big mason jar drink dispenser (also from pottery barn) to mix everything. If you want this much lemonade, you will need to double up on everything which is what I did here

I filled up my milk glass container with some lemonade to share with my lil' sis!

And now a cute weekend outfit idea. If you've been reading my blog since the beginning, you know I absolutely admire Olivia Palermo's style. This outfit is comfy and casual yet chic and pulled together. You can easily recreate this look with similar top here cute white skirt here throw on this leopard scarf and you are good to go! I failed to find an affordable decent looking nude tote bag. This is the best one I found. You can add your own black tassel just like the one she is carrying. I think its by Balenciaga.
PS. I just looked at the red top and they are sold out of the red. only rust color left :( maybe you can call up your local forever 21 store to see if they still have the red. And what? bag is no longer available too! their stuff really sell out fast.

WAY TO ROLL- introducing....... LOLA

So yesterday turned out to be a not so bad day after all. My new bike arrived! I walked down to the bike shop to pick it up and rode it home. It was the best ride ever! If you missed my previous post LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT go check it out! I went with the black classic 3i. In that post, I guessed the price to be around $650 but i was wrong. It was a little more than that. Regardless, I finally got my bike and it was truly love at first sight! As I walked in, I saw my black beauty parked behind the counters and I could not wait to take it home. She is drenched in vintage. I decided to call her, Lola. I was originally thinking about naming her Carmen but the bike is Electra and i dont want her to be Carmen Electra haha so I went with Lola. Lola is sweet with an impeccable sense of style. Also to mention, very green! Her headlights are not battery operated. They are generator powered and activates when you pedal. Kinda neat right? love the old school technology. I also love the skirt guard in the rear tire. Perfect for a girl like me who loves wearing skirts and dresses. My bike came with a little catalog of accessories and I already have my eye on a few things. The only thing it didn't have is the leather saddle bags to go with my retro leatherette saddle. But thats ok, I will find it! Now lets take a look at the list of must haves again:

THE BASICS
- must be chic & stylish----double triple check this!
- must be a beach cruiser not a mountain bike----check
- 24" wheels ('cause im short)
- if its 26" then seats must be able to go down really low----the tires are actually bigger but the small frame made this the perfect size so check check check!
- brown leather trims (seat and handle)---double check!
- must have front and back fenders---double check!
- come with back seat (so i can put a picnic basket)---check!

And these are the things I wish to add :)
- bell or horn (because I don't want to get hit again)---bonus check!
- side mirrors---need to get
- cup holder (Paul said he would make me one but where is it??)---will order soon!
- large wicker basket---will order soon!
- saddle bags (like the Cynthia Rowley bike below)---need to find
- big reflector at the front (size of headlight)--- came with it so double triple bonus check
the owner of the bike shop I went to drives an oldies classic vintage car in black. This is the bike version of his car :)

I didn't know the back fenders have the white contrast, love it!

skirt guard will come in very handy. Also came with bungy cord to hold your stuff in the back rack. I will need to get some longer bungy cords to hold big things.

This bike has handle break for front tires and back pedaling for back tire break. I will be using the bell A LOT

way to roll

BAD DAY

Today was one of those days when nothing seems to be going right. The worst part is getting a parking ticket while my car is parked right outside my own house. Maybe I need to set reminders for Tuesday street cleaning day. I bet my neighbors laughed when they saw my car getting a ticket. I wonder what they were thinking.... probably like why don't they just park in on there driveway? Well, we have this gate that is not automatic and it is a pain to get out of the car every time to open and close it. Looks like we will be getting an automatic gate opener sooner rather than later!
By the way, the damn ticket cost $68!!! that's more than what my nutcase helmet would cost! DAMN IT!!!!!! Anyways, enough of me whining, it was my own stupid fault for parking there on a street cleaning day. Lesson learned...I hope. After all this cussing in my head about the ticket, the rest of morning was not going so smoothly either. I was doing some work in my cottage, going thru bins, picking out cute things to take pictures of for my ebay store, rearranging the 20 bins and random boxes and the boxes fell over on ME! that really hurt :(
I decided to take a little break so went and got myself some french fries, my all time favorite food! I love fries, tater tots, hash browns and potato chips. Hash browns for breakfast, fries for lunch, chips for snack...yummmmm! Just kidding I wouldn't do that. I ordered a large french fries and small coke, ate it all and maybe now I'll go and chillax with some new magazines. I hope you are all having a much better day than me!
the carls jr by my house makes really good fries. just the right amount of crispiness and saltiness

all gone after 10 mins, it was delicious! washed it all down with a few sips of icy cold coke!

ever since my accident, my bro has been telling me to get a helmet. Hes showed me a few awesome websites and this is the one i like most. I really like the color and large polka dot print. It goes with my new bike arriving tomorrow! Tomorrow will be a great day!

HOARDING SEVERITY SCALE- take the quiz

This is in relation to my previous post. I was curious to see if I was a real hoarder. I took this QUIZ from Oprah's website and this is my result. Take the quiz and share your results!
I have significant hoarding related problem (hahahahahaha) however, I am NOT impacted by clutter. My house is neat and organized!

HOARDER- yes thats me :)

Hello ladies, I just listed a bunch of cute dresses for sale on my ebay store! I guess you can call me a hoarder. I have been collecting clothes for a long time, even ones that I know I would never wear or not my size but are just too cute to pass up. I have 20 plastic bins FULL of really cute clothes in my back cottage. They are lined up all against the wall which is taking up a lot of space. I really want to do something nice with the cute cottage but I cant do anything with all the boxes there! So I opened an ebay store to get rid of everything. It is sad to see them go but being a shopaholic/hoarder that I am, I constantly have new things coming in to my closet (which is exploding at the moment). One day, I will go thru piece by piece and part with them too. But for now, the 20 bins has got to go!
I've had my ebay store for a few weeks now and I would like to thank all the girls (and guys) that bought from me and left me such wonderful feedback! I always include a thank you note written on the back of my business card, I hope they don't just get thrown away and that some of you reading this now actually stopped by my blog to say hi after getting my card.  I add new things daily so check back often! I usually don't put measurements in description because it takes too long and also because most of the things I sell are brands most people are familiar with. But if you need measurements for ANYTHING, you can just email me, I respond right away if I am home otherwise, I will get back to you in a few hours.
Also a special thank you to my wonderful fiance Paul and his super awesome friend Cliff for shipping everything!!!
