DIY- Vintage brass valet stand

While Paul and his buddies went on their wonderful cruise (without me) I stayed home and finally finished this DIY project. When I first brought this home, it was rusty and ugly. I polished and polished until my arms fell off. It took me a few months but when I finally finished, I didn't like it. So I decided to spray paint it black and I am glad I did. Now Paul can hang up his outfit the night before instead of having it all over the floor.

BEFORE: as you can see, after polishing there were still dark spots that wont come off

DURING: i sprayed front side first and let it dry and then did the back side

AFTER: TADA!!! do you like?

RIDE IN STYLE

Still obsessing over a new bicycle. I know some of my friends (and sister) are thinking about getting one too and when you do, lets ride together - in style.

I want everything you see here especially the bike and the PRADA sunglasses. When i first saw them in vogue, i got so excited that i spilled coffee all over my desk at work

CRUISE WITH ME

I'm very thankful to be alive after getting hit by a car while riding on my bike. I had a Micargi Rover GX beach cruiser (white with pink rims) and a cute wicker basket (which broke into pieces). Since then, I have been on the look out for a new cruiser. If you come across anything that fit what i want below, please let me know

THE BASICS
- must be chic & stylish
- must be a beach cruiser not a mountain bike
- 24" wheels ('cause im short)
- if its 26" then seats must be able to go down really low
- brown leather trims (seat and handle)
- must have front and back fenders
- come with back seat (so i can put a picnic basket)

And these are the things I wish to add :)
- bell or horn (because I don't want to get hit again)
- side mirrors
- cup holder (Paul said he would make me one but where is it??)
- large wicker basket
- saddle bags (like the Cynthia Rowley bike below)
- big reflector at the front (size of headlight)

The shoes she is wearing in the video are by Prada which are sold out. Im not sure how much they were but most likely over $700.  I found a copy cat version HERE for under $30!!! I think they look pretty darn good!

HOME SWEET HOME

Since moving in to our new home, we've been slowly but surely getting each room in the house to look the way we want. Its been a fun but long process as Paul and I have very different taste (cottage chic vs modern contemporary). Our living room is the closest to being done. We found the furniture we wanted just a few months after moving in but i am just now getting around to the decorating part.
